The client needed to design a solution in SharePoint Server 2010 to automate inspection reports of sprinkler devices. So this tool will ease the reporting of faulty devices. Previously client was using forms which need to fill manually which leads to a time-consuming process of creating inspection reports. Also, client conducts a large number of inspections for various companies, so it is cumbersome to maintain a large number of records. So the company initiated to automate the processes. As the company already had SharePoint environment, they decided to take advantage of the platform.
NGenious Solutions, Inc., offered its’ technical expertise to build the inspection form and the reporting tool. NGenious Solutions team created the forms using InfoPath 2010 which provides easy integration facilities with SharePoint. The reporting part was accomplished using custom solution for SharePoint. This solution does not require the manual intervention to create reports. Also reporting process is now a real-time process i.e. as soon as the inspections form is filled, the reports are updated. This helped the company to easily report the shortcomings in the inspection.
